My washing machine broke down just over a week ago. It was at the point when Toby & Barney's fleece and towels (3 sets) were all due to be washed. As I didn't have a clean set I had to revert to using fitch throughout the whole hutch. From the moment they went back in the hutch they have been grumpy. They have been rumbling and mounting and chasing from dawn until dusk for a week, it was getting REALLY irritating. When they rested, this didn't last for long, and it was always in the bedroom on the hay. They are now 9 months old and we have been starting to get really worried that they were going to have a huge falling out.

My new washing machine was plumbed in on Sunday, I put the fleece back in yesterday. What a change. Toby is the main popcorner but Barney has being doing so much popcorning he looks like he is in a disco! They are still rumbling/chasing/mounting but this has gone back to the pre-fitch level. They now spend more time sleeping and are back out in the open sleeping on the fleece with Barney cuddling his nugget bowl!

I think they have made their preferences pretty clear!

I have some piggies that love their fleece, too, and others that prefer to sleep in the hay trays. Each to their own.

Glad that your state of emergency is now officially over! :yahoo:
