Piggy routines

Am I right to think that Pigs are NOT nocturnal?

If that is true then my 2 are an exception. They seem to stay in their houses during the day and come out at night! Also they don't seem to eat that much hay during the day but it's all gone by morning.

Another strange thing I've noticed is that my two mirror each other now that their cages are next to each other which is pretty amusing!

Does anybody else's pigs have funny routines?

How odd and adorable! My piggy has a sort of routine when she wants fusses.
She wanders over to my feet and pulls on my socks, resting her paws up on my foot and ankle. Then when I bend to pick her up she runs and hides behind my washtub before creeping up on me again. This will continue until I manage to catch her and pick her up. Then she snuggles happily.

The true nature of a guinea is to venture out at dawn and dusk but living in such a diurnal environment guineas come out at all parts of the day. I know that my guineas mainly eat early evening/at night, but then that is when are given their main meal, however, they are known to be out at different periods of the day. : If your guineas wait until night time how strange, maybe they feel safer. ?

My piggies are awake for a couple of hours, sleep for half an hour, etc. and that goes on all day and night as far as I know Mine prefer to stay hidden in the day aswell.

You're not alone. My piggies sleep pretty much all day and then come alive at night time.

mine sleep a lot at night,several times ive been out to the shed and caught them all asleep,even those downstairs in the house sleep at night

I don't know what rodney gets upto in the night, but in he is awake on and off in the day.

He must be awake at some point in the evening as he emptys his hay ball and treat ball.

You can guarantee when i go check on Duke during the night he'll be out munchin away or when i lift his blankey his nose will be there and he just looks at me :smitten:
