Hi folks, I thought I'd post this and see whether this could be a viable solution. I have been forced to take my annual leave in July this year, but my best friend who usually looks after my piggies for me will also be away for the second half of July. So, I was wondering whether anybody here would be interested in staying in my apartment and looking after my two little boys for one or two weeks. It's a one bedroom apartment in south Tenerife, second row from the sea with amazing sea views. You would just need to arrange your flight, then it's free accommodation in return for looking after my boys :)
 
Wow there's an offer! I bet someone will bite your hand off to do it. Tenerife in July lovely!

All my family are in the UK - that's who I'm going to see :)

I've thought of paying a local pet-sitter, and that's still an option, but they will probably visit only once a day and do the bare minimum necessary. My piggies need to stay in their own home as I think it would be too traumatic for them to be moved anywhere else for holidays, especially as they have their space here and everything they need. I moved apartment in October and it took them about a week to get used to their new surroundings.

That's why I thought it would be ideal to find a reliable, trustworthy guinea pig lover to move in here with them while I'm away.

To give a bit more information about the apartment, there is a double bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room, so although a smallish apartment it can actually sleep four people. It's in a quiet area about 20 minutes from the popular resorts of Playa Las Americas and Los Cristianos, and 10-15 minutes from the south airport.

Hopefully I've managed to upload a photo of the view from my front balcony

What an amazing offer... but then I'd be left with the problem of who would watch my piggies :))rolleyes.

Me wants to go to Tenerife....8..., I wish I could of helped... Sorry grrrr.

I'm sure someone will have your hand off!
 
Wow what a nice offer:)

I work in a College so July/Aug are times I can take time off work if needed but Id be stuck for cover here for my 4 but would love to visit Tenerife as never been but loved Lanzarote when I went.

I'm sure someone will help out and take you up on the amazing offer!

I shall resist running off to check flight prices but what a great offer and such a good forum to find piggy sitters on:)
 
Thanks for all your encouraging comments, I really hope I can find somebody nice to look after my piggies, and once I do I can start making my own travel arrangements :)
 
I've had no takers for this yet :( The dates I'm stuck for are from about the 12th to the 26th July but these can be a little bit flexible to suit the piggy-sitter.

My apartment is one bedroom, fourth floor WITH lift, two balconies (one on the front of the lounge/kitchen and one to the back off the bedroom). Las Galletas is a fishing village that has grown up, so there are many shops, restaurants and bars (though not the nightlife type) within easy walking distance. You will also have the company of two gorgeous litte piggies x)

If anyone would like any further information please ask away :)
 
:( Hope you find someone! My problem would be (like joanne!) who would look after my piggies!

Unless your boys have a spare snuggle sac, I am sure H&L won't mind a bit of sun! ;)

It really does sound like a brilliant offer, I will honestly speak to my BF - my mum can look after my gang. :)
 
BF said he would be interested. I have looked at flights and can do 13th - 27th if that is any good to you. :)

Got to see financially if things will be 100% but I hope it works out cos I would love it, sun, sea and pigs! :))

Oooh I love Tenerife. I go every year but ironically this year is the first year we are not going because we are getting things done to the house. I love Del Duque beach and La Caleta. Good bus system. Good buses and air conditioned. I think they are called ****a. I speak spanish so I have quite a few spanish friends over there whom I keep in touch with by e-mail. Its a great place to holiday. Something for everyone really. H&L, I'm sure you will love it. Taxis are quite cheap and you can get into to Playa and Los Christianos quite easily. I love love love Tenerife. In fact I have a tattoo with the words 'Mi Corazon esta in Tenerife' under my watch which means my heart is in Tenerife.
 
Ooh I see the name of the buses have been blanked out. I think because it sounds a bit rude. It begins with 'T' and is like a rude name for boobs with a 'a' after it. It is the name of the bus company though :))

Oh gosh, I forgot to reply on here!

I can't give a 100% yes as yet, as much as I would love to, as money is extremely tight and we need to go through things properly.

I would love to take it up but if anyone else can give a definate yes right now then please do. I don't want anyone to think I am stringing you along, I will do my best to sort it and get you an answer. :)

I have just PM'd you but I have spoken again to the other half and I have priced up flights from 12th July to 27th July and it is just over £200 - he seems impressed with this obviously so I am giving you a provisional but hopefully definate YES! :o:(|)

It really shouldn't be a problem, it isn't like we are staying in a hotel and having to eat out every night. It should be ok! :<>

Have you got a pic of my future step kids?! hehe

Oh yes, they are definately worth looking after! ;)

I was on tenterhooks waiting for you to reply, if I am honest it was my BF holding me back, he lets me make decisions then shouts at me if we can't afford it but I was only supposed to be going to Chester for a night and that alone would have cost me over £100 just to get there and stay over! :o :(|)

I'm so pleased it's all coming together for you Sabrinova, must be a relief knowing your guineas will be in very good hands and you can enjoy your own holiday.

It makes it even better that I can look after piggies - my only concern is my wonderful mummy won't keep to the fleece changing/veg cutting schedule but I will cut and pack the veg to make it easier. Am going to call her in a bit to let her know she will have 4 lodgers! :))

My god, I am actually REALLY excited and I haven't even booked the flights! drool8;)

omg was just bout to say yes until i read the dates dam it we are on holiday the same time otherwise would have loved to. x
