Junior Guinea Pig
Hello everyone.
I went out to do my piggies tonight and absolutely heartbroken do find one of our pigs laying dead on her hay. :'(
I just wondered if anyone had any idea what could have caused it? I assume heart attack. I had 13 pigs and I've had 2 pass away before her, but they were both elderly pigs and died of old age.
She was as far as we can see, healthy and fit. She was only a 3yo and was eating drinking pooping and breathing fine. She was fine when we left her yesterday.
I'm so sad to find her like this, mainly it's a shock I think. We do have a poorly pig who sadly has cancer but all our other pigs are happy healthy and all are well taken care of.
Not sure how relevant it is, and sorry for the gory details. But she did have a little bit of orange discharge from her vagina as we picked her up to take a look at her. Not sure if that's normal with her passing away or if it may be a symptom of what caused it?
Any comments would be appreciated!
Thanks. :'(
