When some of the freshly rescued 411 sows and babies start exploring their new large pen after a cramped journey South...

Here is a newspaper article about the NORCAL rescue. The estimate is that the rescue will cost Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue a truly eye watering $120,000 over the next year (which needs to be raised by funraising and donations) and that the number of the piggies needing to find new homes will go up 1300 once the babies from the impregnated sows arrive over the next 3 months.
They rescued 700 guinea pigs. It could turn into 1,300 and cost $120,000

Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue have taken in 411 mothers and babies from around 700 piggies in a hoarding/uncontrolled breeding case that has gone way out of hand. These are just a few of them.
It is the largest rescue ever recorded by a mile. The rescue is going through about a $1000 a week just to feed all these piggies!
You can find more details and videos in this thread here: The Largest Guinea Pig Rescue Ever Going On In California!

@Janice C : Donations are pouring in, but keeping them coming in the next months and year is going to be a challenge as the rescue relies entirely on fundraising and donations. This is just way out of any rescue's or even a countries' combined rescues' comfort zone!
