I will leave a message for Guineapigrehome as she lives in North shields which is not far from the guinea pig.....rolleyes

I think the best route to go is A1 which is nowhere near me sadly. :( The route is 4 hours long so maybe if you do get her then stopping off for a couple of days to give her rest half way would help keep her settled.

I can't get my route planner to work! Puter has played up terrible today!

Would be happy to help if came through the M6 route. Will have a look when my route planner is working later! :)

I do agree with you Graham. 4 hours is a hell of a stretch really.

Oh of course Chez, I'm not having a go I think what you are trying to do is fab. I've never had a problem transporting my foster boys but preggie sow may be a bit different.

As I say if you do get her and if I can help if its over this way then let me know. :)

I think what you are doing is great, I only wish I lived nearer to you, so I could help you, sorry but I am not.

I could meet and Donington services on the M1 if that assists at all. She could come to me (Swadlincote) and then arrange the last bit of the journey from there. My Mom lives over Solihull way and am over that way every other weekend. Not sure whether that helps or not. Am here if you need me though, just shout.

Tyne and Wear is Newcastle, right? If somebody can get the piggy to Malton (near York) then I would be able to bring her down to Nottingham or surrounding area, which is not too far from Birmingham, where you could pick her up. :)

The whole thing would have to be done on a weekend though as I work Mon-Fri.

If somebody would drop her off at my place early-ish, then she would also be able to have a rest at my place for a few hours before continuing the journey.

If someone could do Nottingham to the Donington junction of the M1, I could then get her to Solihull/Earlswood (the junction of the M42 by Becketts Farm Shop) and thats not far from Bromsgrove then it is?

Sorry to say that I have just phoned this person and someone is already bought her!rolleyes Lets hope she goes to a good home!

I took in a piggy from the RSPCA in Walsall this year, near Birmingham.

Toffee4ever brought her from there to Nottingham, and I think it took her just under an hour. So you might even be able to pick her up yourself from Nottingham lincolnsmommy?

Sorry to say that I have just phoned this person and someone is already bought her!rolleyes Lets hope she goes to a good home!

oh no :(

I am horror visions now of some backyard petshop breeder going "oh cool, she is already pregnant, that will save me some time!"

lets pray some piggy-lover bought her :(

I also hope that she has gone to a new and caring home ... best to believe that she has.

Well done all of you for trying to help to her!

I wsnt having a go or anything I just feel transporting a pregnant sow 4hrs can be very risky and how would you feel if something went wrong and she aborted or something ?

its better to try and help her than leave her. Id feel better trying to help her than someone take her on and use her young as snake food.
How would i have felt if i had gave her a great home, got her to the vets and looked after her, she had lovely babies and i got them wonderful homes? fantastic.
Its better to try and help than ignore the situation. The offer was there it didnt have to be taken.

lets hope shes got a great home :)

No sokel but £10 for a sow who could have maybe 4 babies (or more) is cheap! Do the maths. Even at £3 each thats at least £12. Even if she wasnt for snake food she could have gone to a breeder to be used for money. I didnt realise trying to help a guinea pig (regardless of travel) would offend you so much. Anyway i know i did the right thing and if needed would offer again. thanks everyone for your help and support
