I've had to book Piglet into the vet today, ive not used this vet before so i hope theyre good.
two days ago her eye was a bit weepy but this seemed to clear up but the fur around her eye has now turned a lighter colour! has anyone else ever had this type of thing.
she is a brown coloured Rex and now has a ring of cream round her eye (her tummy fur is cream.) it isnt discharge as i checked
I'll try to get a photo

its more noticeable when you see both eyes together but her right eye has the cream ring.
looking closely at it i think she has had something poke the eye as she has a cloudy spot in the middle

How odd! I wonder why her fur's been affected? my pig poked her eye with hay once and I had to put a thick antibiotic paste onto her eye called 'Tricin', it was so hard to get her to sit still for it! Hope your pig is ok <3

difficult to tell from photos , but have you consided cataracts ?

The change in fur colour around her eye is definitely not connected with any eye injury, but if she has had a weepy eye and you worry about an injury or ongoing irritation, you may want to have it checked.

Guinea pig's fur colour can darken or fade as they age; rings can become more pronounced or go the other way. You often notice any subtle changes when you are looking more closely for some reason and then perceive it as sudden, when it actually isn't.

A cataract is a developing opaqueness of the lens sitting on top of the eyeball. it is not connected to fur colour changes.
