Okay, so I have had little Sophia for about three weeks now. When I first got her I noticed she had a crusty little nose and was sneezing. Right away I took her to the vet, turns out she has a URI. He gave me Baytril & told him to see him in a week. No improvements so I took her again & he gave me doxy, he said it help with stronger infections. She's been on it for about two weeks now & slowly she's improving. She had lost a lot of weight, so she's getting her appetite back. Today I noticed her crust is totally gone from her nose & I haven't heard her sneeze today :)

Last time I went to the vet I told him about her throat. She seems to have a hard time really getting her voice out. It's almost like it's sore. It comes out scratchy. The vet said it could just be a side effect of the URI and to just continue with the medicine and not worry too much about it.
So I'm turning to the real experts! You guys! Has anyone else had these side effects with a URI? Or do some piggies just have scratchy voices?

Really looking forward to any replies I get!

Glad to hear she's feeling better! :)

Whizz, my boar, has a very scratchy voice. All my other piggies can squeak for England but Whizz has never been able to manage it! Awww, I love 'I'm! x)

Okay phew! So maybe this is just something that she'll always have. That's so cute!

Yes my old Foggy has a mere whisper for a wheek, he has had uri infections in the past he came from a bad background and was in bad way with sticky eyes and a wheeze and still sneezes and coughs from time to time, his voice has "gone" but he does sound so sweet when he tries! xoxo
