So my pig Cali loves lap time. During lap time the other day, she started getting restless. I put her back in her cage thinking she needed to burn off some energy by what we call "getting the zooms" (running laps around the cage at top speed for 2-3 minutes). But instead, she rushed to a corner, backed up in it, and stood there silently for about 15 seconds. When she moved, I saw pee and 4 poops right where her booty was!

Is it normal for pigs to not want to pee on their mums/dads?

Yeah, some piggies can be quite considerate. I've had a couple that will start to make a fuss to go back to their cage and pee.

My current two arent quite so nice.

Jon Snow likes to look me in the eye as a warm jet of pee soaks through my trousers or top. And Podrick really loves to pee on my boyfriend.

My pigs also usually get restless when they need to go for a pee. But sometimes they seem to decide the cage is too far, and instead they happily jump off my lap on to the sofa and back into a corner... That's when I need to be super fast and snatch them back! Poor piggies think they are doing the right thing getting off my lap and peeing somewhere else :)) :)) It's just that the sofa is a tiny bit more difficult to clean than my clothes... So, I have learned my lesson, and now I place a plastic bag next to me on the sofa during lap time! :tu:

My piggies will just pee on me and won't even bat a eyelid. I like to think it's because they feel like they are safe enough with me to go on me and I wont get mad.

Mine always let me know when they need a wee. They are supprisingly good at holding it in until they are back in the cage. I put them straight in their litter tray, and they just let go.

Some of them, my Peter was like that and when I met the OH I was so proud to tell him that. Passed Peter to him, nipped to the loo and when I came back Peter was back in the cage as he'd p'eed on my OH! :)) he must have been a jealous boy :))

Comet won't fuss when he's being handled unless he wants to toilet. Took me a second to work out what was going on the first time because he was biting at my clothes and it was so unlike him!

Blitzen just constantly fusses anyway, but he's never pottied on me, so...

Haha oh bless, they definitely give you signs. Bella turns around, climbs up my face and looks me dead in the eyes lol.

"Mum, listen. I need to pee. Okay?"

:))

Yep, my pigs try very hard not to pee on the people! The only time there are accidents is when we ignore obvious signs (fidgeting and backing up, mainly.) The only one who had regular acts was Sundae, and she had chronic bladder issues and I think couldn't hold it very well, so the time between her fidgeting and the time she peed were really short, so as soon as we saw her get antsy we had to RUN her back to the cage to pee!

Actually, my pigs are great with potty training and don't pee on the carpet either... they are able to get back into the cage from the hall where they get free time and they go back in to pee and poop. Linney (one of my original pair) seemed to do this on her own and her companion pigs followed suit, and thus we always seem to have one pig who is 'trained' to introduce the next generation to the fine art of not peeing on the floor! Thanks for that, Linney- her legacy of responsible bathroom habits lives on!

I'm glad mine don't pee on me! (not so far anyway!) Gwen will give me a little nip when she wants down for a pee.

Haha! Luckiest Cali's cage is in our living room, so I literally just reach over the back of the couch and set her back in the cage. I have to do it with her facing me or else she'll jump!

I have 3 and 2/3 of them have peed or poo'd on someone in the family. The one that hasn't is a baby and I'm thinking with him he's actually just so scared of us still that that's why. He's all tensed up.

The two that have usually it's just poo, rarely pee. Unless we hold them for a very long time. Even then they do try to signal they need to go, usually by getting really restless.

Most of mine are like that too, apart from Ronnie the skinny who runs about on the sofa then goes up to my leg and squats, so he pees against it.
