My lovely neighbour came round today and built an extension to make the pen on the first floor big enough for 3 piggies so we're all ready for Piglet's arrival tomorrow.

I'm so worried about her out in the garden alone in her hutch in the snow tonight and really wish Penny could have brought her before tomorrow.
She must be a hardy little girl, this is her 4th winter outside but her first without her sister.

I'm setting up a pen next to Hector and Matilda so she can meet them and get to know them before introductions next weekend. I'm all excited now if a little apprehensive, this is the first time I've added another sow to an existing couple. Boar bondings I've experienced but introducing a new sow to a boar and sow is new to me. Thank goodness I've read so many threads on here!
Here's hoping it's not handbags at dawn!

Pictures to follow when she arrives. :<>

She's here and she's gorgeous!
Not at all worried, she happily sniffed her way round her new home, the neighbours Matilda and Hector came over to say hi. No one was particularly bother and all went happily about their business. She's now having a snooze.

Thankfully she's not been outside the last couple of days, she's had a make shift bed in Penny's daughter Imogen's bedroom away from the cats. Imo was a little tearful but glad she can still come and visit her. She was so sweet, she'd got a bit upset so asked her mum to tell me that when the time comes she'd like to bury her in their garden next to her sister.
Piglet's going to be 6 years old in September so I told her to think of it like she's just gone into a retirement home. I think she's going to be a little character, she's already headbutted me for messing up her hair. :(|)

How exciting! Glad she has arrived, she's going to be very happy with you. Looking foward to pigtures once she's settled in!

She'd hidden under her cardboard box for a couple of hours so I thought I'd check she was ok, this is what I found...

Oh wow she is so beautiful! How wonderful she will be nice and warm living indoors now.

STUNNING x) Hope she settles in well! Looking forward to seeing more of her

She's cottoned on quick! The wheeking at breakfast time started, she ran out and joined in! I put Hector and Matilda's food in first and she ran over wheeking at them trying to get to their food. She happily demolished hers leaving a piece of cucumber til last then took that back to bed with her.

:(|) That is sooooo cute! Especially the cucumber being taken back to bed! haha! xx

Aw she is a pretty girl! Lovely to hear she is settling in well.

Wow she's settled in fast! She led the wheeking this morning! We had a lovely snuggle on the sofa watching Eastenders last night and she wheeked at me when I said good night.
