Piglet's limping

Oh dear, we're off to the vets today as Piglet is looking very sorry for herself and clearly in pain as she didn't really want many veggies to eat this morning.
When I got home from work last night she was fine but when I came to clean her house out a couple of hours later she wasn't putting any weight on her front left paw although she was still bounding about. I've no idea what she did as I was in the room with her most of the time and didn't see or hear any accident.

Poppy has done the same in the past but by the next morning she was putting weight on it again but this is very different with Piglet, may be she just can't recover as quickly as she is 6 years old but with her off her food I'm not prepared to wait and see.
Please keep your fingers crossed for her that it's just a little sprain and some pain killers will do the trick.
 
Good luck Piglet - hope painkillers help her.
Barney Bubbles went lame just after I adopted him and it took a few days for him to walk normally - but he is a youngster so bounced back to popcorning loony tricks then (which is probably what did the strain in the first place). Hope she feels better soon.
 
Thank you, I'm hoping that's all it is and she'll be back to normal in a couple of days. She's really struggling, it's breaking my heart to watch her, she looks shattered trying to get around.

Well the vet is hoping it's just a sprain as well and that she's struggling to recover because she's an elderly arthritic lady. We've got 2 Rimadyl tablets, 1/4 a day for 8 days but we're going to go back in a few days for an x-ray if she's not showing any signs of improvement.
She is looking so sorry for herself. She's not wanting to eat and is getting bloated so I'm massaging her tummy and trying to tempt her with food. She's nibbled some parsley, a flaked pea and some hay and I took her water bottle to her for a drink but she's not eating enough. I really hope the pain killer's working, I gave it to her at about 6.30-7pm, she's not looking so uncomfortable now but hasn't moved since she went back in her clean house nearly an hour ago. :(
 
It took her a minute to get her balance but she's just managed to put her weight on both front paws, one at a time while she had a wash! She's very wobbly but she's trying.
 
YAY! painkillers are a great thing! Just give her a bit of time, she'll be popcorning (as well as 6yr old piggies do!) soon enough! :)

I hope so, she's had a big yawn and settled back down now. I just want to see her eating, that's my biggest worry at the moment.
 
Oh poor little Piglet. I really hope the painkillers start to work and she feels like eating.
 
Well it appears carrots with green tops are worth trying to move for. She's got out of bed and managed to move around a little. She's had a little nibble on a carrot and hay and dried food and has now fallen asleep with her head in the hay. Her appetite isn't normal but at least she's showing some interest in food again thank goodness.

She's looking much brighter this morning. Yesterday she was feeling so poorly she just let me put the Rimadyl in her mouth, today she fought back, with paws! She's moving a little carefully but she is moving and stuffing her face again. Her tummy was still a little bloated this morning so I've given her another massage and will be keeping a close eye.
Fingers crossed this was a one off and just a sprain and not her arthritis causing her collapse. She really did worry me.
 
Glad to hear she is looking brighter! They are such a worry at times. x
