I'm thinking of buying the girls a pigloo. Does anyone know where you can get them from and and what sort of prices they are and if they are a good buy.

Thank you.:)

Hi I bought one from pets at home for about £8 I think. Yes it has been a good buy as I have put it in their run and they use it for shade and as a hidy etc. I did use an upside down shoe box with a hole cut out but it got a bit damp snd fell apart do that's why I invested in a pigloo :)

I go mine in the same place. They do come in handy.

Thank you. Can the piggies climb on top of the too?

I don't have a pic of her on it (just checked) - The ones I linked to are big though and the top is flat. If they can get up there, they'll just lay on it with their feeties tucked in. Penelope is a regular, Mabelle did settle down on it a week or so ago but I think he knew it wasn't his place! Then Sasha jumped on it for the first time the other day and just slide straight off, she's a big girl! Audrey used to all the time as she was the only one of her trio that could get on it but I haven't seen her do it for a while.

saw this on ebay

not sure if it is big enough and I dont think you have a choice of colour £7.63 delivered.

I think these are ok for smaller piggies, but unless they were babies/couple of months old, only 1 would fit in (we used to buy these for the rats when we kept them years ago) but if you get a bit of a chunkster s/he might struggle to fit through!

There are some that look like igloo castle type things, I always think of sand castles when I see them, that aren't a solid colour so you can still see what is going on inside.

Thank you everyone! The girls have a treat in store for them!x)

Can you get the igloo castle things from pets at home too?

Hmmmm I don't think I've seen them in my local one, but I could be wrong. I would advise that whatever you go for, go for the rabbit size version of it as although a lot of things say guinea pig, they can be on the small side.

They sell the castle houses as Jollyes. :) I am going to get one when they get some pink ones in! They have every colour but the one I want. :))

My ladies love their and Mavis is always standing on top of it when I go into the shed wheeking at the top of her little lungs!

I just bought them a toy. They had no nice pigloos so I bought them this little wig-wam with loads of hay on the top. They seem a little shy of it though and we may have to trim the hay though so that they can get in!

oooh i've never heard them called pigloos before! but of course it makes sense! we have one and when minnie pig was still around all three piggies used to squeeze in it causing it to raise off the ground so they kind of carried on their backs like a turtle! :)):))
