pigs and ambi-pur..

my room absoloutly stinks, especially now its starting to warm up no matter how much i clean them disinfect the bedding before they go in the cage etc..they are male, they scent they poop and it stinks so i decided to but an ambi-pur 3volution room scent thing it lets bursts off every 45mins of one of the three scents, will the guinea be ok with that in the same room?

I would say "no" but I dont really agree with artifical airfresheners at all. I think its bad for you to inhale all those chemicals and I'm guessing that its notg that great for a piggy either
 
I do not agree with air fresheners either.
I have 14 pigs,8 of which are boars in my kitchen.I clean the pens with vinigar daily and once or twice a wheek I clean more thoroughly with diluted Hibiscrub.Weather permitting,I keep at least one small window open.My room does not smell.

well I had a airfreshner when digby was in and I am positive it made him ill and I had to take him to the vets only to discover it was the blinkin airfreshner

i dont know what I'm going to do, my room constantly smells of the boys i can change them daily but it costs a lot to keep washing all the towels and getting them dry especially if its raining, i keep my window open all day and at night sometimes too if its warm enough i heard using scented candles could harm them if they are not made from soya?
 
What about the neutradol air fresheners the gel ones that are suppose to just draw in odours to the gel. Have you tried those?

Not sure if those would be harmful or not maybe someone else knows.
 
oohh they sound good i didnt even know they existed! i went out and bought an ambi-pur one cost £6.50..well i got it off ebay i'll give it my mum or something because i dont wanna risk anything with my piggies i'll try that surely if its just agel that absorbs it wont give anything off that harmful..
 
well if you do get the gel ones I only pay 99p for mine from a local discount store and I'm sure there are other brands about. Ive just looked on ebay and they are over £3 on there
 
oh cool, we have a discount store in my little town or the next bigger town has a few pound shops i'll have to go in and have a look thanks :)
 
Towels soak up the urine and get saturated very quickly.i I prefer to use vetbed which stays dryer for longer,or just newspaper with hay on top. Mary
 
Have you heard of a company called Party Lites, they are very safe.Can even eat them if you really what to! Can buy on ebay or try finding a rep!
 
are they a candle company? if so yes ive got a candle by them..if not same company ive no idea what company it is..lol
 
ah yes its the same company, much cheaper on ebay ive been to one of the candle parties quite cool smelling all the different ones some you do literallt want to eat!..so are they all safe around piggers?
 
oh right i couldnt find that on their website..thats why i asked, i can light that now i havent used it before incase it harm the pigs! lol
 
What candle do you have? the votives melt down into liquid so need to be in votive holder,other larger candles need to be on a dish!
