Gethenian
Junior Guinea Pig
I posted these pictures as part of a thread on another board, but I think they're worth just sticking up where people are looking for pics...
So, what you're seeing there is the emergency enclosure we put together in the living room yesterday evening when we discovered that the air conditioning in the attic (my space) was broken. This is summer in Washington DC -- the attic becomes as bad as a hot car, nowhere you can safely leave anything alive for long. I happened to HAVE all this stuff because I'd been meaning to set up a second enclosure for her where she could run around while I was working in the office. Good luck, that!
But there's another visitor here this week who also had to be rescued from the swiftly-heating attic. We decided to let her and Kindle meet...
The furball in the plastic bubble is my daughter's hamster, Lily. The two reacted to each other with a few cursory sniffs and then invented a game where they took turns chasing each other into that corner there while exploring Kindle's new home.
Kin also found something else to play with...
Those aren't the clearest photos, but they are photos of a guinea pig up on her back paws batting at a dangly jingle-ball hanging from the entrance to her hidey-hutch, playing with it like a kitty. I've never seen anything like it!
