Hello I got two new guinea pigs at pets mart last week.
Both what they say are males. These are first guinea pigs we owned. Although when I was little I owned two.
"Me and my wife and todler"
The worker said she thought they were 8 weeks. And other 12 weeks.
Although mine weighs 1.5lb and is 8inches comfy. And 10 inches stretched. And hers is 0.95lb
Moo moo is the big one mine. And hers is nibbles. The small one.
We have a huge cage for them with two houses. Two bowls. And two water bottles. Toys. And a lot of hay.
Mine will shake his butt make a motor noise and explore or mount the other one. When they are in the cage they are most okay. The only time I saw them fight was when mine ran into the other one.
We we r cleaning out there cage and we only had a box to put them in. They instally fought and started teeth noise.
We separated them and when we put them in the cage it looked alright? We bought a play pin for the floor and they fought twice. Nibbles was exploring my fingers when moo moo came by and said hi instally nibbles started to try and fight and made teeth noise. 2 minutes later in the play pin nibbles laid down and moo moo came by and wanted to play nibbles started to get up and make loud teeth noise wanting to fight so we put them back in the cage.
I don't know what to do, moo moo stays inside his snak shak large. And nibbles across the cage stays in his big acrylic house. They do not enter each others house and when they do they tell the other pig to leave.
When eating hay they will fight over the hay in each ones mouth.
I try to handle mine once a day.
Our baby dose not touch them only watches.
They play together. And jump around and run. And explore.
But why and how do I make them stop fighting. What's wrong?

Rumbling, chasing, snatching food from each other can come under normal dominance issues and can just be your pigs sorting out the hierarchy and competing for top pig. Generally I wouldn't separate unless things get more serious and blood is drawn or if the dominance becomes bullying, i.e. becomes prolonged and one piggy is becoming depressed or being prevented from eating etc. It is quite important to make sure you have sexed the pigs correctly though to prevent any little surprises

Thanks. I looked at a lot of info and pictures of the guinea pig gentitals, it looks that both are male.
I read the forums but I will re read them c;
Thank you

Bullying. I do not know.
Nibbles our smaller one. Will go to to bowl of pellets and moo moo the big one, will come by and nibbles ran off. I really don't think nibbles was done eating other times they eat at there own bowls. Or share or eat at the same bowl. I don't know.
Edit: another thing moo moo is really not welcomed inside nibbles house.
Where when nibbles comes inside moo moos house he stays a little longer some time moo let's him stay for 2-4mins. Other wise nibbles isn't really welcomes inside. And when they really sleep or go to bed it's off to there own houses.
