One of my pigs was out on floor time, they have the whole house - and then I heard all this commotion and ran into the room to find my other pig had gotten out (they are male, 12 months old and hate each other). Their cages are cable tied and he had bitten through his cable ties and pushed his way out of the cage to get to the other pig. One has a tiny little dried blood under his nostril, and the other has a closed dried cut on his lip - again small. Should I do anything to these cuts? I dont want to stress them out more by cleaning it all out if its not needed as its dried in already?

What a fright! They usually live side by side but think ill move the cages away tonight, they just hate each other so much :( this cannot be good for them to live side by side hating each other this much.....

Keep an eye on the wounds as they can become infected, usually just a quick clean with some salted water is enough, little nips usually heal well.

It would have taken sometime to chew through a number of cable ties so it's likely that he's been having a naughty nibble at them for a while - and put in a bit more effort once he saw his target moving around.

Perhaps invest in some strong garden wire so he can't chew through it again. It would be a shame for them not to have next door company, usually boars settle well even if they want to kill each other when they meet. I would only move them if they spent all day at the divide trying to get to each other and this stopped them displaying normal behaviour - pottering around the cage, eating, sleeping, even copying each other (drinking from the water bottles at the same time, etc).

Thank you!

Cleaned them up and they seem to be healing up nicely.

I wish they would like each other but 8 months of hating each other has escalated now and I dont see a way back. Fingers crossed they act normal tomorrow when I put the cage back beside the other pigger. Thank you for helping me, really appreciated xxxxx
