Pig's in New Zealand!

just a quick question, are pigs allowed into New Zealand without quarantine, passport ect?

According to this page piggies can't be taken into NZ (I have no idea why though...)

They are considered as an invasive species. Meaning people let them loose if they don't want them anymore. I know my brother in law has one though so I wonder if its tougher laws because they have so many unwanted creatures
