I thought I'd try and post all of my pics in one thread.

This is my boar Bartie. I've inherited him from my sister who got bored of owning cavies and opted for a dog instead. He wasn't always a single piggie he lost his cage mate about a year ago.

We are over the moon to have him he's such a shy and cute little guy. He's still scared of the camera but I managed to take a few sneaky ones.

Very glad I got one of him with his hay box as that was a new addition I wasn't sure how well would be received, but I thought he should have an option for fresh hay rather than just his bedding 😕

Very 😍 more pigtures please! Are you going to get him a friend when things open up again? Does he in or outdoors?

I would love to if we could find one a similar age, as I don't necessarily want to start the pig journey again from scratch. I really just wanted to give him better remaining days, especially as he spent the whole winter outside with the cover barely being lifted and not being cleaned out for a month 😱 . He's outdoors, he's always been outdoors, but we've brought him in for cuddles a few times. We have a little pen for him to use indoors, but I don't think he likes how exposed it is. He seems better with a roof over him. He's still a timid little thing ♥

Yes, guinea pigs are scared of open spaces. Try throwing a sheet or blanket over the top of the pen (or at least part of it) as it can help him feel less exposed.
I have to do this for my two at the beginning of spring/summer season - they are terrified of their run to begin with, only for the first couple of times though and then they are fine.
Do be careful though - at this time of year the temperature fluctuations between inside and outside are too great. Outdoor piggies shouldn’t be brought inside at all during the winter (unless they are to stay in), as exposing them to such big temperature changes in a short space of time, can cause them problems.

I hope you can find him a friend soon - fostering for a rescue centre can be a way of finding a friend for your piggy to see out his life with, without the longer term commitment

:agr: Contact rescues and see if you can foster a friend to keep him company. Do you know how old (roughly) he is? Got everything crossed for you.
