Hello,

I am new here, and have a question about water bottles. At the store, I noticed they had ones with a pin/metal pick thing that can be pressed down as opposed to one with the ball. My pig Archie is just a baby, and I am worried about his learning to drink from it. I have had hamsters and gerbils have issues with various bottles, so I am a little concerned. It seems safer to me, no ball can fall out choking him, and it seems to drip less.

Does anyone have experience with these bottles? Does anyone like or dislike them?

(I tried searching, but it did not seem to work :\)

Thanks in advance!
Jenn

I tried a ferplast sippy bottle a year or so ago - I hated it - leaked all the time and the hutch ended up soaking wet. I am quite happy with the bog-standard cheap ball ones

I use these, and they seem fine to me (had them with two baby pigs - just showed them how to use it) however the issue with them is, when there drinking dependent on the drinking method... the hutch/cage can end up soaking as Abi said - I have to change my drip pads regularly. But with the ball ones I found they leaked a lot, guess it's just trial and error to see what works for your pigs.

Thanks for the responses so far. Archie's c&c cage should be in by the week's end, and I plan to put this bottle over a cat litter box bottom that is filled with shavings. I guess I will just watch and see how he does. He is a baby, maybe he will learn fast, :).
