Hi,
Some of you may have already seen pigtures of Pink and Pumpkin but, as there will no doubt be more to come in the future, here's a thread dedicated to them! We've had the girls just over a month (from a rescue) and they have gradually got used to us and we to them, given that we're first-time piggie owners. I (as 'bringer of hay' and 'poo sweeper') definitely get the greatest response when I come near. My daughter (as 'pellet deliverer') gets a pretty good response. However, my husband (as 'chief picker upper') was mostly met by quick scurrying to hide until a week or two ago. This has improved somewhat since we've started doing laptime on the sofa and we've discovered that they actually like chilling out and being stroked.

Pink's the mostly white one with the fabulous hairdo. She's an expert veggie stealer and hoarder. Pumpkin's the mostly grey one with the crazy 'eyebrows'. She looks bemused when a piece of pepper disappears from under her nose.

Oh my Pumpkin! I love her expressive face! Your girls are gorgeous :wub:

Pumpkin's the biggest popcorner too. Pink tends to do little zoomies. I'd love to attach a video but I can't as yet. Which is the easiest way to do so? YouTube (is it free to upload?) or some other way?

1 in the first and none in the second. But I’m thinking I may be wrong!

I always thought it was little boys that peed up the wall, not girlie guineas! Not sure what was going on last night 🤔. On a serious note, am I right to presume that all's well regarding the colour of the urine and that it's due to oxydisation?

Girls can pee spray when they are annoyed with the boys or just generally annoyed with another piggy in general. It looks like oxydation to me but another more experienced member may feel differently.

I don't have girls myself but I'm pretty sure that sows sometimes spray wee on/near each other- charming!
Yes I'd say it's normal for oxidised wee to look they colour :)

Thanks for the reassurance. Pumpkin was chasing and trying to mount Pink this morning so I guess that explains it. Pink behaved in a similar way the other week but it only lasted a day. They're both relaxed with each other now btw.

Yes some girl piggies love spraying their pee! I’m lucky my girls haven’t ever made a habit of it but my RB Poppy the chinchilla was famous for it, they stand on their back legs and fire it at you too (as well as vets! :)) ) the crazy beasts! :xd:

Hello! I haven't posted for a while, partly because things have been pretty hectic and partly because I was concerned about Pumpkin's weight going down a bit. She was seen by a vet last week - everything seemed fine - and this weekend, she'd put on a little weight so hopefully all's well.

Here are a few pictures from the last week or two.

Pumpkin's just been on a bit of an adventure! She and Pink were in the kitchen having floor time. They free roam in there so I'd pulled the door to while I was checking what my daughter was doing in the hallway. I then heard wheeking but it didn't seem to be coming from the kitchen. Sure enough, when I opened the door to check, only Pink was in there. Eventually, I found Pumpkin hiding under a blanket box we use for storing other stuff in the living room. I could hardly see her actually as she's pretty dark! I was pretty relieved. She must have pushed the door open a little and sneaked out!

I swear sometimes they like to make us piggy parents panic!

What a lovely thread - I’d missed it previously. Your girls are utterly beautiful :luv:
