Hi,
Last weekend one of my little girls, Matilda was spotting a little reddish pink coloured mucous around the cage. She had no blood in her urine and was eating and drinking fine with no sign of discomfort. The only change in her behaviour was that she seemed to be in season, was rumblestrutting like crazy and kept trying to mount her poor little sister Poppy. After a few hours the discharge stopped altogether. This had happened once before about a year ago and also seemed to be heat related.
The vet (who i went to based on good reviews for small animals) gave her a good check over and a completely clean bill of health. She said that very occasionally a pinky pigment can be released that could be triggered by her being in heat.
I was just wondering if anybody else had experienced the same thing with their ladies? As far as I was aware piggies don't bleed when they're on heat. I can't seem to find anything like my experience online and would really appreciate it if anybody knew anything else about it.

Thanks,

Sally x
