When I went to get the pigs ready for bed tonight I noticed a small pink growth coming out of Peanut's eye.
My husband is sure he didn't see it this morning and I'm sure I didn't see it last night.
There doesn't seem to be any discharge or redness.
What could it be? Thank you in advance! Xx20170918_220602.webp 20170918_220556.webp

Please see a vet during regular hours. It is likely an infection or inflammation of the tears producing gland, which pushes it out. Medication that contains an antibiotic (whether eye drops or oral) should take care of it.

Thank you for your quick response Wiebke.
I have booked an appointment with an exotics vet for Wednesday morning (the earliest I could get).

Yes it is an infection and Peanut has been given eye drops. Twice a day for ten days. There has already been an improvement.

The vet confirmed that Dilly does have pea eye as suspected.

Peanut's ovarian cysts still seem small so the vet says we should leave her be for now.

So quite a positive vets visit thankfully.
