Dot is sometimes peeing pink urine, it is solid pink not red. Blood maybe?
Burnies is fine its just dots pee now and again.

I will post a picture on her next floor time.

Is it coming out pink or turning pink?

Shes has some sort of lump in her bladder wall. It was diagnose by my guinea pig experienced vet back in july. She has been on zythromax twice which didnt seem to stop it. But put her in less discomfort. She is straining to poo but does a few like that then comes back to normal, no stones on xray, no sludge, its was possible cystitis or a tumour. But she has stayed pretty much the same since her xray. Not perfect but living life quite fine apart from the straining to poo and pink urine, sometimes

Ive seen pics of bloody urine on this forum and dots pink urine doesnt look like any of the pics, its solid very light pink, i have seen it dry and it dries solid too. No ring of red on perimiter

No, red bell peppers, 1 ring of carrot, romaine, raddichio or kale for leafy stuff. Raddichio is purply red, but i dont think its that
Yeah best to get checked- I know these colours can affect human pee but not sure about the wee mammals.

Some of the veg can cause coloured urine, but if you are worried then book Dot in for a check-up after Simon and Kim are back from holiday. It doesn't sound like an emergency as long as she is not showing any other symptoms.

simon didnt seem concerened about the pink urine, he did mention cystitis could be possible. Il see how this cystease goes. Shes been on it almost a week now. Her only symptoms are straining to poo which makes her hide away for about 15 minutes, then she just carries on being herself again.

Her weight is stable.

I will get her booked on if it doesnt get any better soon. Thanks

My boy had pink urine kinda like your describing. Can't say its the same thing but the vet said he was healthy. Just caused by the food he ate (vet took x rays and stuff since we were worried about arother bladder stone)

I seriously think that Dot is suffering from cystitis as this would happen with both Emma and Ellen but I agree that it should only be diagnosed from.a.vet. The cystease should help to some degree.

When.Emma and Ellen were diagnosed, that was after everything else had been investigated and come back negative.

Emma and Ellen would pee pink wees but upon testing at the vet, not all the.pink.pees were positive for blood as some.of them came back clear

I’ve had much the same with Zip. X rays show no sludge or stones. The only veg I now give are a piece of pepper, a chunk of celery and cucumber with occasional slice of spring greens. Filtered water only and grain less pellets. Her hay intake as increased and her weight is maintained. Good luck with Dot! Is she on any pain relief? X

Also my vet advised with piggy’s prone to bladder problems to remove kale and spinach as they are really high in calcium.

If it turns out interstitial cystitis (IC), which can only be diagnosed by default, you might find our special diet recommendations helpful. Once week on cystease is not very long.

It would be great if you please kept all of Dot's updates to one thread, so we can look up what has already been done and said, and give you better advice.
You can set your own notifications by clicking 'watch' at the start of each thread.
PS: If you have already got an appointment this week, take Dot for a quick check up, too.

I pretty much am feeding dot the same veg as you. But lettuce aswell. romaine, mixed leaf = frisee, lambs lettuce, raddichio

Phone vets and ask if Dot can be added to the appt you already have for Friday morning. You may as well get her checked if you're there.
Thanks debbie for this. Shes in on friday aswell. They had to shift my appointment back half hour. But its worked out better for me dropping the wife off to work. Il be less rushed. I can breathe again now.

I'm in wales in the sticks. Had to find a hill to get a signal

On friday at the vets, should i mention that i think she may have cystitis?
