Pip has a lump

Dear All - Hoping for a bit of reassurance here!

My boar piggie, Pip (1.5yrs old), has a squashy lump that has come up on one side of his rump... he doesn't really like me prodding or pushing it, but doesn't seem to be in pain, is eating normally and is not acting any differently.. the lump is quite soft to touch and is about 1.5cm in diameter.

I have an appointment at the vets for tomorrow afternoon (Friday at 4pm), but was wondering whether cysts were quite common with guinea pigs.

Hi. Good to hear that you are taking Pip to the vets as all lumps should be checked out.

Try not to worry to much as it could be anything.

Fatty lumps are quite common in guinea pigs, these are quite squashy and are nothing to worry about.
