Pippa has developed a small lump on her side :( It's up on her back quarter, after her ribs

It seems to have popped up from nowhere and is about the size of a pea, so not massive, but it definatley shouldn't be there.

It feels quite loose under her skin and it doeesn't seem to bother her at all when it touch it, so I assume it's not causing her any pain.

She is the same cheeky character and is still eating loads.

Does this sound like a cause for concern? Should we be off to the vet?

I really hope it's something and nothing. My poor little Pippa :(

I am not a specialist on lumps, but if you are in doubt, best show it to a vet - there is a range of things that are "lumped" together. It can be a cyst, an abscess or a harmless fatty lipoma. Lumps are rarely cancerous, so you shouldn't panic over that.

Sorry to hear that you're worried about Pippa...but glad that she's fine in herself.

I'm afraid I don't really know anything about piggy lumps but have heard that Cancer is pretty rare in piggies. I agree with Wiebke, if you're worried about it then it's best to get it checked by the Vet, as with any health concern. Hope it turns out to be nothing serious x

Thanks both for the reassurances :)

I'm going to keep my eye on it over the next couple of days and make sure it doesn't change. I'll get her booked in anyway I think, just to put my mind at rest

Thanks again x
