Really quite worried about her she has a lump on her side just hope its a harmless one :( does anyone have any tips on taking her like how to make her comfortable in the car? also how much is it likely to cost (never taken any of them to the vets before and both my two dogs have had quite high vets bills in the last month)

i always put some newspaper and a small fleece in their carrier and a small amount of hay incase they want a nibble on the way there and back (they never do though!)

not sure on costs really. don't remember it being too much though when ches had his first lump (turned out to be a sebaceous cyst) - we paid for the consult and then for the vet to take a sample from the lump to send to the lab.

good luck pippin :)

Hope it is nothing to be concerned about, lumps can be fatty so hoping that is what it turns out to be.

Different vets charge different prices. I always take some cucumber for while they are travelling then if you have to wait longer than normal you have some wet veg for your piggie to have if it is warm. Let us know how they get on

I've had 2 pigs have lumps removed recently. Can't remember the cost but both were fine afterwards. Both got thin but I gave them bran, guinea mix and pellets as well as lots of other stuff and they are putting weight on again. Good luck.

Hello everyone been to the vets they said most likely it's just a harmless cyst as they tried twice with a needle and no nasty stuff came out :) I have some medicine for her and was told they could be removed but it would just be cosmetic and if they get any bigger to come back. They also said she was very well behaved and that she is very healthy :)

That's good news. The same happened with Mousey last year but it did get bigger & she eventually had to have it removed. She recovered well & is as fit as a fiddle now.

My Winnie pig has a lump on one shoulder. Cost me about £80 for the needle sample to be taken and analysed. Thankfully it's nothing sinister. The vet suggested we just leave it there, as long as it's not getting in her way. It's been there about three years now!
