OK, I am panicking a bit here. I keep the bag with the piggies hay in near the cage. Somehow it has ended up within their reach and I just found one of them chewing the plastic.

There are several holes in the bag, but no sign on any plastic in the cage so I am assuming it has been eaten? Will this pass through their digestive system with no problems?

I am pretty sure your guinea pig will be fine but, I read on another site that you should make sure that your piggy is pooping, if they can't or seem as though they are straining take them to a vet. This sort of thing must happen a lot tbh... My degus ate my bed sheet once as it was close to them haha... I know it's different but it's similar.

Don't panic, this happens to all of us at some point in our piggy keeping.... As Cherpi has said, make sure they are pooing and that everything is moving through. Feed them lots of hay. If they should stop pooing which is doubtful then get to the vets. You'll find they will be absolutely fine, they like to keep us on their toes!

Thanks!

All 3 seem to be acting as usual thank goodness! I think I was so worried thinking that they would choke on it and it would block their airway. Not sure just why that went through my mind!

Its crazy what the piggies eat. I mean surely after the first bite it must have tasted all nasty and yucky... Silly piggles! :D

My pigs have gotten at the hay bag a couple of times with no ill effects. I have heard that the risk involved is it impacting in the intestines, so watch to make sure they are pooping, which means that everything is passing through. I'm sure your piggy will be okay, they just like to worry us at times!
