Plastic Hides

Hiya, just wanted to ask what plastic hides everyone is using?

I’m thinking of getting my girls the Zippi hides from Omelette, mainly because they’re the only plastic hide so far that I’ve seen that has two doors. But they’re also £18 each and I don’t really want to support omelette because I don’t agree with their range of housing for rabbits, chickens and guinea pigs . So though I’d ask here before committing.

Is this for inside or outside use?

Generally speaking, plastic hides outside can cause issues - they can condensate and cause damp piggies and can get very hot inside in summer.
Personally I avoid plastic hides and only use wooden ones

Only for inside use. I used to have wooden hides but felt like I could never actually disinfect and clean them properly.

I used to use footstools similar to the ones @weepweeps uses when I had guinea pigs I also had a plastic dome but only used them for inside use after a forum member reminded me how hot they could get when the pigs were out on the grass during the warmer months x

We also have a step stool- however it has been repurposed by me for using to stand on at clean out time.

It is the only plastic hide our boys have….. or not in this case, as I have been using it!

Mine have stick bridges over plastic litter trays. They also have an ikea dolls bed to hide under. They do like to go on top of it as well!

I use the wooden log ones but I put an arched hidey inside ….mainly to stop Freddy ( skinny pig) getting scratched as often both try to run thru it together

It’s easier to brush over and wash the hidey as needed so easy to keep clean
