Since this is my first foray into two male pigs after a lifetime of girls or girls with boys, I find myself with all sorts of questions!
But tonight we have one in particular. My boys are now 7 months old and one of them (Oggie) has rumble strutted nearly constantly from the beginning. He will occasionally try and chase or mount his brother (Finn) but only for a split second, then either back off or run off to popcorn in great excitement. Usually Finn either ignores him, or tells him to buzz off, but tonight he tried to mount back and then ran off to popcorn himself. Sometimes they both popcorn afterwards.
So here’s my question (finally) can male pigs use dominance to trigger play in the same way that dogs do? Because to me that’s kind of what it looks like, one trying to rile the other so they can shoot off and run and popcorn.
