Do people leave their guinea pigs in a play pen when they’re out? I’m just curious as I don’t know if I should. It’s not the sturdiest when humans accidentally knock it over lol, but they have never escaped and even when they’re running around etc It has still been fine

I could leave them in there all day whilst doing things around the home and they’re fine

I wouldn't. Your piggies need to be secure when you are not in the room to keep an eye on them

Glad you asked this question @Ellie-May as I was thinking about adding a playpen extension to my cage to give the piggies more space and stimulation
Hmm that sounds like a good idea! However, I don’t have the space to have the play pen set up 24/7 :(

Personally I dont leave my piggies in the playpen unsupervised unless I am in the next room cleaning their cage or just popping to the corner shop for 5 minutes. It probably could be done safely with a very sturdy playpen secured by drilling fasteners into the wall like you would a child safety gate or a fireguard and clipping the playpen to that so there's no chance of it falling over... they get through such tiny gaps though and are surprisingly strong and so inquisitive I'm not sure there would ever be any guarantees of safety!

I have nipped out for something quick whilst the pigs were out in playpen but I was pretty confident they couldn't get out
