does anyone know of any internet sites and sell toys for chewing which is good for their teeth and will keep their boredom levels down. I have tubing and a little house but i want to get something else really.

can anyone suggest any toys from pets shops such as pets at home etc. I always buy certain things and Scruffy just seems to ignore them!

Thanks

my piggies really don't play with toys they love igloos and any type of hidey hole and tend to enjoy chewing willow or branches off the apple tree, i prefer the larger igloos that don't have a plastic base because the piggies toilet in them and end up walking/ laying in their wee i also sometimes hang treats from the top of the run so that they have to grab them rather than just come upon them on the floor but all piggies are different

I got mine a oblong nest, you can get them from p@h for £10. Its all edible (hay and willow i think) and they loved to sit in it too.

It lasted less than a month with my 3 girls and after about a wheek it didnt look anything like an oblong anymore! ::)
It was well worth the money though! O0

☆☆☆☆ as i would of liked it to be a little bit harder to demolish!

Mutton chops, i went to P@H this weekend and saw that yes! it looked fantastic but i opted for a willow ball with a bell in it and a treat hanger thing also with a bell on the end. at the moment hes using the treat hanger as put some wood blocks on there for him to chew, he woke me up chewing on it setting the bell of at 5 this morning! hehe!

abnoba mentioned cuddle cups? what are these? i never even heard of them!

;)

Cuddle cups are fleecy beds.........and theyre sorta cup shaped =)

Mine have little willow balls which they love to chew and they throw them around too.

Also, toilet roll tubes stuff with hay are good and they like to play with them.

I also have a kabob thing which has wooden chews on it and they nibble at those.

Cuddle cups are beds, generally made from fleece.

thanks jane! i have toilet roll stuffed with hay. i know what they are now! i remember seeing them in shops, they have them in all different sizes.

Anyone else with any suggestions?

In my cage, my pigs have - houses, steps to hide under (those plastic ones you can buy for about £1, they love them), big cardboard tubes, big plastic tubes, piles of hay, toilet rolls stuff with hay, a dangling bird toy, a "roll n chew" toy, plastic balls with bells in them and a hammock at the moment. :)

do they use the hammock?! where did you get that from! fantastic!

also do you tend to have alot of hay in the cage for your piggy to hide in, or do you only have a little for him to chew on?

I have the Nero 4 cage, therefore there are the steps in there where he sleeps and hides, but sometimes i take them out as it gets him out and about a bit more, otherwise he'll just sit and hide in there! silly pig!:p

They do use the hammock, they like to sleep in there :) I got it from my local pet shop but you can get them from a lot of places.

Well, my cage is quite big, so they have lots of hay on their top level. I keep some in a hay rack too though, so that they still have some fresh hay and can't pee and poo on it all.

The thing I like about the steps is that they're not enclosed - all four sides are open, but it has the corners and a roof. It gives a place to hide, but still be out in the open if you know what I mean.

www.pamperedpiggies.co.uk is a fantastic website for piggy things. Unfortunately, it's closing at the end of this month until Christmas time, so if you want something then order soon :)

thanks jane and mutton chops! i have looked everywhere where i live and CANNOT find a hammock for the life of me? any suggestions of larger chain stores or online? i would love one for my piggie! The steps sound like a fab idea, i dont really like mine as they cover completely, any suggestions of stores for this too. i think where i live is just useless for toys for my piggies, i really struggle to find anything interesting!

thank you for the website, i shall get looking on there, such a shame its shutting for a few months. are there any other sites people use?

thanks!:D

jane what size hammock would you suggest for a guinea pig - medium or large?
