Hi

I was just wondering how guinea pig's play as i am new to them and my two Lola and Sky chase each other all night and i thought it was them arguing and was getting worried but thinking about it they must play at some point.

Heya, not too sure how guinea pigs are meant to play but my girls also love chasing each other and popcorning around especially during floortime, I'm guessing it's a form of playing because they always seem happy and squeaky, mine love to chase other things too like rattle balls, rolly food like grapes and even the hamsters when they are out in their balls hehe x

That's one of the things I wanted to ask. When I have my pig out for floor time he hardly moves. I have him on a huge blanket in my kitchen. If he does even move his belly is crouched down low as if he's scared. If he wants to nibble on his pellets (that I sometimes have down for him) he stretches to get them. LOL.

The only time he seems remotely active is when we put the top of the cage over him. And he still does not move much. Half the time he just lays there. Lazy pig!

I am concerned as he is getting fat. I just wish he was more active. He does run around his cage! But I feel that's not enough.

Any suggestion?

Okay, I really would LOVE and I mean L_O_V_E to see the piggies chasing around the hamsters lol that would be just great :)) made me laugh just thinkin about it. My piggie also has a couple of balls with the bells in them in his cage. I'm not sure what he thinks their for but he likes to carry them around in his mouth and he can't sleep unless one is by him rolleyes. Trust me, I've tried to get some pictures lol he just drops is and pretends like he wasn't doing anything.

Scatter hideys around and hide treats all over the place to encourage him to explore. Most piggies are scared of open spaces at first - that is where they are exposed to predators, and instincts run deep.
