hi everyone! please help me! lola is 1 years old now and recently she has been having really laboured breathing, its really bad, she has also had discharge from her eyes and her nose, so i took her to the vets 3 days ago and they said its probably a lung infection so she gave her a shot of anti flamitrys and i have to give her 2 syringe full of antiboitics everyday, nothing has improved and she is actually getting worse can someone please help me! :'(

She should have shown some signs of improving by now. If she was mine i would take her to the vet asap. Sending hope, love and prayers from me & mine. Nicola x

what antibiotics is she on? Some are better for a uri than others.

Which vet did you take her to? Is it an exotics vet or one that you are confident knows a lot about piggies? She needs to see a vet urgently, if she has fluid on her lungs it will be an emergency & she will need Furosemide/Frusemide to help clear the lungs as well as a more effective antibiotic.

Oh love 'I'm really sorry to hear about Lola :...
I hope that you can nurse her thru the night and see an exotics vet a.s.a.p.

sending these

HEALING VIBES AND LOVES FOR YOU LITTLE LOLA FROM US ALL XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Aw sweetie, they do sound like severe symptoms of a URI, i would get her back to the vets ASAP, is she on Baytril? 2 syringe fulls a day is an awful lot, could you be a little more specific on how much you have to give her?

Healing vibes and wheeks, good luck at the vets xx

Poor guinea i hope she is ok and you get her back to the vets. Must be very worrying for you.

Please get her back to a vet ASAP, it is well worth looking at getting a Diuretic as these clear the fluid and ease the breathing, it is worth speaking to your vet about Furosemide.

Sending Lola lots of healing vibes x
