hello I have just purchased a Guinne pig and she seems to have a strange bump under her lip and I’m not sure what it is does anyone have any idea at all?? I’m very concerned about my girl
If you are at all worried about your new baby take her to a good vet. There is a vet locater at the top of the page. If you keep the receipt the place where you bought her from should cover it for you.
Hi. Yeah I agree with @Betsy as I’m afraid I’m not experienced enough to tell from that photo what it is. It’s always good to get a new little guinea pig checked over by a guinea pig savvy vet. Lovely little piggy what’s her name? Xx
Please get that checked by a vet. It looks red around the edges. It could be an infection called chelitis ir it could be an injury. If you have only just bought the Piggy the pet stor should cover the cost of the vet treatment. If you are in the UK you are rotected by consumer legislation as pets are treated as “goods”.

Please have your baby vet checked for the beginnings of lip infection (cheilitis). Stop feeding any fruit and tomato.
You can reclaim any vet cost from a pet shop if the problem turns up within 2 weeks of the sale, as it is likely caused by exposure in the shop. We recommend to have any new piggies vet checked anyway.
