Hi
I have a holiday booked for in two weeks time, and the person who was going to look after my piggies has let me down :-\
I can't go on holiday unless I can find someone who knows what they are doing to look after my pigs, but I was so looking forward to my holiday :'(
Does anyone know if guinea pig boarding places exist, and if so, is there one in the Stafford, or even Staffordshire UK area?

Desperately hoping someone can help me!
x

I run a guinea hotel but i am down in Kent sorry, if you engine search guinea boarding a massive list will come up

good luck i hope you find one

As naughty Katie says, the Small Pets Holiday Home in Sandbach is good, and has looked after our monsters in the past, and its only a couple of junctions away up the M6 (its 2 mins off the motorway and easy to get to).

Hi
I'm a little more the other end of the county, but if its an ok distance for them to travel then I don't mind. A telephone number would be great, thanks, in case I don't find any closer ones that come with such good reports
:)

Yeah, I don't know if you are planning on doing the trip by car. Our pigs are well traveled. We have a 2 X 3 cage that barely fits in the back seat and fleece pouches they sit in for a while and then get transferred back to cage for the rest of the trip. We usually are only traveling 2-3 hours at a time and get a hotel that it pet friendly. The pigs thought it was weird at first, but love it now. My husband is always with me though, so he can hold them and move them around as needed.

Hi
thanks again for the tips. I may have one Cannock way, but any other suggestions still appreciated, as I feel safer with personal recommendations
:D

I found this its in Tamworth.

Make sure you take a look at the place first, when we went to Florida my mom (who knows nothing about piggies) dropped them off at the boarding place, when I got them back, the woman had kept them on straw, fed them rubbishy food, even though we'd provided our own to give them. It was just generally not very nice.

This ones for rabbits, but they seem like a nice place and I;m sure they wouldn;'t mind taking in your guinea pigs.

I know how you feel i have been let down by my piggie sitter to :'( atleast i have 6 weeks to plan somewhere else my last resort is my local pet shop but i don't like the way there animals are kept and don't wnat to leave mine there :(

kezza30 what dates r u away ? I'm in newcastle but am away at beginnning of aug.

Thanks all. I think I'm going to pay a visit to the bunnery tonight to check it out, as they were great on the phone, looks nice and my pigs will be in the lap of luxury with a hutch that is 6ft plus long and 3 ft wide - wow! Fingers crossed :D

kezza30 how many pigs do you have and are they indoor or outdoor? I may be able to help as I'm not away until 2nd aug? :)

Have you tried petpals? You can email them at [email protected].

I have 6 there outdoors in a really large hutch so it was easier having my family member look after them but they let me down and my neighbours allergic so it's unfair for her :(

What are pet pals please? never heard of them :-\

they come and pick up your guineas and look after them in their own home. It costs for 6 pigs per week £30 I think thats quite reasonable.

email them on [email protected] and they will contact you. They are in prudhoe and I'm sure they wouldnt mind you visiting them first. let me know how you get on.

PM me if you want to talk and i will give you my number :)

that's very reasonable as i pay between £3.50 and £5 a one singel bun and two in a bonded pair. i also pay £3.50 a night for a pair of budgies. so £390 fro teh week for six, well i wouldn't say no lol.

last year i was let down last min by a bunny hotel and had to frantically search for a new one consequently i know of a coupel of good ones sheffield way if you get really stuck and are willing to travel.

I'm near Tamworth and would look after them for you depending how many you have? As long as you supply food and that.
If I'm of any help give me a shout x
