Okay so I took some pics that actually are somewhat clear. Walnut is a month old and I"m freaking out that he is actually a SHE.

Here are the pics

Yikes! I think Walnut is a girl. Oh no.... she has been with my unneutered male pig. :( I have to go and separate them now. I feel so bad about this. I feel bad because if she is pregnant I'm going to be so upset for her. And also, I feel terrible that now my boar is going to be so sad on his own. :(

ARUGH. I can not believe I did this!

Don't worry. I believe it's hard to tell when they're little. You won't be the first and certainly not the last to get it wrong.
How long have they been together? Maybe she'll be lucky.

Hi,

They've been together about a week or maybe its been a little more than a week.

Does anyone else think the pics are a girl?

Thanks :)

Looks like a girl to me...

I'm definitely no expert but Walnut doesn't look like my little boy!

Here's another link.

I honestly not confident to offer a useful opinion. I checked my girls everytime I picked them up for weeks (just in case anything grew!). I'm sure someone experienced will be along soon.

On the positive side, if she's a girl, Walnut may not have been in season in the week she's been in with your boar.

:)

Aha, whilst typing the more experienced person did indeed come along- thanks Sophie. x

Hehehe- thank you! I don't like trying to sex them from pictures but these ones are quite clear. Would be good if someone could confirm it having seen the actual piggies though, preferably! Maybe a vet ? Just in case. I've had some here that were really difficult to sex until they were older

It could be a girl, but some piggies are really difficult to sex.

How old is she/he? Piggies become sexually mature from 4 weeks onwards, but that doesn't mean that all of them do straight away. Girls have their season for for a day or two every 15-17 days, but will be ready to mate for only a very hours at the end of it.

I was about to say the same. I wouldn't know where to begin with sexing but she looks nothing like my boys in that area.

Hi,

Thanks everyone for your reponse. I still can't believe I mixed up her sex. She is one month old. Sigh... still am in shock.
