My piggies have had a green metal feeder for years which is a hayrack on one side and a bin feeder on the other side. Does anybody know who makes them and if they are still sold - I need to contact the manufacturer asap to advise them they are unsafe and shouldn't be sold.

I don't know I'm afraid. I have a green hay rack, but it's just one that clips on to the cage, it's not a bin feeder as well. Have a look around on some guinea pig toy suppliers websites. You may find them around somewhere :)

If you posted a picture, perhaps we would be able to take a look at it and give us a better idea of the brand :)
I know the sort that you mean, I just can't remember the name or how it looked exactly! I've seen some similar online, but I don't think they are exactly the same.

Thanks I've found it - it was burgess.

If anyone has one for their piggies please throw it away immediately, my Merry sadly lost his life on Weds after getting his head stuck and breaking his neck. It was very traumatic and the emergancy vet had no choice but to end his suffering.

I have asked burgess to remove them from sale immediately.

oh gosh thats awful I'm so sorry. Rip Merry, sleep well.

Is there any chance you can post a picture of the feeder as I'm not sure which it is, it may help others to recognise it too?

So sorry again, it must have been so traumatic x

Oh my goodness, you should be entitled to some form of compensation from Burgess.

So sorry, RIP Merry xx

Oh gosh! That's awful! I'm so sorry for you...how traumatic! 8...

RIP Poor little Merry :rose Popcorn free at the bridge

Not the best pic I'm afraid, hubby was so upset he tried to destroy it.

I am so sorry for your loss. What a terrible tragic thing to have happened. :(

havent seen those around for donkeys years, certainly not seen them on their web site.

Update on response from Burgess

They have advised this is an old product and should no longer be in circulation but as I bought this recently they are instructing all their sales reps to contact their suppliers and ensure no more are in circulation.

In addition they have offered to contribute towards the vet fees incurred.
