Thank you. I wish I could put a small video of Poppy that I have on here for you all to see how beautiful she was but I don't know if I can.

Teddy's poops are very loose tonight and his tummy is slightly bloated so I have given him some Infacol. He is still eating well otherwise I would have given him some Buscopan which he responds to very well. Luckily I don't have to give that to him often. I just need to reduce the pellets although he only eats 10g a day of Oxbow Cavy Cuisine.

With Poppy his poops were normal which they hadn't been since December last so I believe another companion is needed for him. His whole behaviour was so much better when with Poppy.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I have found a new female Teddy for my castrated Teddy. She is only 3 weeks and 3 days at the moment and isn't from a pet shop. She is not ready to go to a new home until she is the correct weight to do so. Here is a photo of her:-

So sorry to hear about Poppy. RIP little one. The new girl is gorgeous. How could Teddy not fall in love with her! x

Thank you everyone, I look forward to getting her and I am sure Teddy will love her as much as he did Poppy. He took to her instantly and she to him.

Hello, I don't seem to be receiving notifications so sorry not to reply earlier. Also, our two year old cat has just had surgery last Tuesday for a spinal lesion and it turns out to be an aggressive lymphoma. He tested positive for feline leukemia and feline aids so the prognosis is not good. As his bloods were good he has started chemotherapy and if he responds well they will continue otherwise he will have to be put to sleep. From the onset of symptoms to his surgery was two weeks and in that time he lost the use of his back legs and couldn't pee for himself. He is now able to walk and pee again but even if he goes into remission it may or may not last long.

Regarding my family of piggies; the two sisters have settled in well and are loving being with Teddy. They are putting on weight and are very vocal. I am sleeping downstairs at the moment with our cat and the girls are keeping me awake with all their racket. They are so beautiful and Teddy's condition has improved lots. He seems very happy and tries to look the boss but when his back is turned the girls love to chase after him. It is fun to watch.

Just an update: My two new additions are doing very well and Teddy's chronic digestive problem has been improving. However, I had to take him to the vet a couple of weeks ago as he was limping on one of his back legs. I think the girls were chasing him when in season and he got his foot stuck in some hay when he was trying to get away. I have since changed hay. His limp is better but I was concerned by the vet telling me that the Emeprid that Teddy takes to improve his gut motility has an effect on guinea pigs neurologically and can make them slow and sluggish. She did tell me about another that is prescribed for humans which I could try if Teddy's condition returns when I reduce the Emeprid. He was on 0.4ml twice a day and so I have reduced it gradually to 0.2.5ml with no ill effects. He is even able to eat a little parsley and carrot again each day. I just thought I would share this information that I have learned from our vet as I thought it important and my other two vets didn't tell me this even though they know Teddy takes it long-term.

Here is my new babies Sally (Salsa) on the right and Lucy (Saphire) on the left. They are just over 4 months of age.

They are beautiful! I hope that Teddy is continuing to improve. Thank you for the information about emeprid.

Thank you for the information. Did the vet give you the name of the alternative?
