Well done, you really did the right thing by him. Fingers crossed for you both he gets better soon, you have given him the best possible chance whatever the outcome.

Thankyou all. Its very upsetting thinking that there is a chance ill never be able to see him again, running around the garden with his funky hair all over the place. But I am hoping the vets will do the very best they can and that he wont give up <3 My mum encouraged me that he would be ok

I am keeping everything crossed for you and will keep checking this thread to see how hes doing. Hope he gets better soon and they sort out the problem

I have just seen this. I have my fingers crossed for your little one. I really hope he gets well soon.

McMac seems well. Hes running around the bed having a nosey at things and hes eaten a whole carrot and his poo is well formed so I am pleased he is ok and it doesnt seem to be anything thats infections

I have been checking for an update - We're all rooting for him here. Well Done in getting your mum to take him to the vet tonight. You have did your very best for him.

Sending healing wheeks to your boy - please do keep us posted! x

Thinking of you and MoMo. They are a worry these pets of ours. Hope he is ok an able to come home soon

HEALING WHEEEEEEEEEEEKY LOVES FOR MOMO XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

and HUGE HUGS FOR YOU XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

i'm so glad you were able to get him into the vets tonight....

Hoping For Good News

We are all still with you hoping little one comes through.

x

Glad you got momo into the vets, and that he is being checked out.

A few years ago my piggy Squeak stopped eating and took her into the emergency vets, and it was touch and go, but we bought her home and syringe fed her for a few days, and she bounced back full of beans.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you, and hope all goes well for little momo.

Big hug xx:)

Thankyou all for you love! I have just woken up, had a late night last night worrying and everything but I am going to phone up about him in just a minute. I hope he is ok

The vet said he is fine and got through the night :) she said he hasn't quite perked up fully but he seems to be getting there. They are going to do an operation on his teeth today and hopefully that will be the main problem. So relieved right now. Hopefully he will pull all the way through <3

That's brilliant news - so far so good!

Did the Vet say what they were doing to the teeth and if it was going to be done under anaesthetic? Just be aware that piggy ops always carry some risk, so he still has a way to go but I'm so pleased that he's already so much better than he was and heading in the right direction.

Still rooting for him and hoping that you can give us more good news later x

Yes I know these things can always have risks :/ but I'm hoping its the right thing to do for him and he will pull through. I mean, if the reason he isn't eating is because his teeth are hurting him then its the only way to get him back to normal. But I am so very happy hes getting better and hope he will continue to do so :)

I'm sure having his teeth treated is the right thing to do. As you say, if his teeth are the problem then hopefully this treatment will transform things and allow him to eat normally for himself again very soon. I've heard of lots of piggies who have gone off their food or simply been unable to eat for themselves, because of overgrown back teeth and rubbing/sore gums causing pain. It can be very straightforward to put right.

I'll be thinking of you all x

Yeah she looked at his back teeth last night and said they looked a little sharp. McMac seems fine, hes eating his carrots and hay and running about as usual so I'm hoping its nothing infectious or a disease and that its just his teeth. I think they have gone off thier nugget food so I'm going to have to buy more of a different type and try to get them used to that one

whee might be asleep when you get little Momo back so whee wanted to send some more.........

HEALING LOVES AND WHEEEEEEEEEKS, COME ON MOMO YOU CAN DO IT! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I just rang back the vets to see how he was after the op and they said hes fine and still sleeping it off, they sorted out his tooth but they also found loads of food stuck at the back of his mouth and such so they thought maybe he has a problem swallowing...what could that mean? I am going to ring back at about 7 to ask how hes doing and if the vets discovered anything else. They are going to keep him in for the night again.

And apparently the vets rang my mum twice at 2.00 am and 2.30 am and when my mum went to pick up the phone it stopped but the lady there overnight said that she didn't ring :S:S spooky

Its even more spooky lol I just asked my mum for like more details (I assumed it stopped ringing when she picked it up) and she said that she picked up the phone and no one was there and then the music started to play for when they put you on hold. She put the phone down and rang back and the music was playing again. She waited a few minutes and rang back and the overnight staff lady said that she hadn't rung her and she had just been taking a nap in the overnight room. Then my mum was trying to get back to sleep and it rang again and when she picked it up no one was on the other end. So spooky lol my mum was laughing to herself saying maybe it was Momo trying to say hi or something :) lol

Glad to hear that he's come through the op and is still fighting.

I think you just have to trust the Vet to be very thorough and explore all options (and it does sound like they are). You obviously love Momo very much. Stay hopeful x

I phoned up for another check up and they said he wont eat on his own :/ They are still having to syringe feed him and he will only take a little at a time. This makes them think there's something stopping him from swallowing :( Poor Momo. What could be wrong? :(

Oh dear I am sorry.

Maybe he has something wrong with his gut, if there is a blockage syringing him won't help. Keeping my fingers crossed still for you both.
