Sunnie, 5 months old blonde abyssian female. Please see videos below of the siezure like symptoms. Terrifying to see. Please help if anyone has any idea what this could be. The vets is over a hour away so we are in the car at the moment.
Both of these incidents happend for no more than 15 seconds and she was fine after. They started at 11 so don't worry we didn't just record it without doing anything...we are on our way now.
So scared for my little girl. Does anyone have any idea? This is breaking my heart.

Fingers firmly crossed!

Unfortunately you really need to see a vet; good that you are being seen as an emergency.
There is a range of issues that can cause them. Your vet will be able to make a more educated guess as we can. Unfortunately, it is an area where a diagnosis is more like trying to work out a crime scene than a straight forward symptom = clear problem issue. :(

Thankyou... I'm so worried for Sunnie. I really hope she pulls through. She is fine in herself after these episodes but when they come around it's awful.
Thanks Wiebke

Well done for sorting out a vet appointment so quickly.
I have no idea about diagnosis, but fingers crossed it is simply an unfortunate one off incident.

If your vet thinks that it is epilepsy, then this has been successfully medicated and stabilised at least for a while in other piggies but they may be reluctant to prescibe anything straigth away with out further consideration/observation and before they are absolutely sure that they have got the right bunny by the ears. Fits are often worse for the bystander. :(

Poor baby, what a beautiful little guinea pig. I have no words of advice I'm afraid, just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you x

I hoe that the vet can give you some answers. Thinking of you.

I hope the vet can help diagnose the problem for you x

So sorry about Sunnie
Hope the vet was able to give you a diagnosis and it’s positive.
It’s frightening watching a piggy having a seizure

Hey everyone,

Thankyou so much for your kind words.
Sunnie has been diagnosed with epilepsy. She has been given daily treatment and they kept her in overnight to monitor her behaviour. She is being so strong and brave at only 5 months old.
Thanks so much again for your wishes, she knows she's loved ❤️

Sending her lots of love. So scary for you. Hope the treatment helps, please keep us updated

How frightening for you but I'm so glad she's holding up well. What a precious poppet. She's so lucky to have you x

Beautiful little girl  Glad you could get a diagnosis and hopefully the meds can help her. I have epilepsy myself and as said above, it’s often scarier for people around me than me! As you don't know what’s happening!
It’s great she’s moving around after the seizures. Keep us updated :) hope you’re ok, experienced seizures with my rat Ziggy last year and they can be scary! x
