Please dont judge but i need help! I'm sure most people make this mistake, but i got a single pig a couple months ago without doing research and once i did months worth of it I feel SO bad about keeping my pig Pumpkin alone ): I also got him at a petstore ): But i am trying to fix what i did. So my step mom watches him while I'm at my mom's house, and she likes to go to work with my dad because she's a stuck up *****, But anyways she said she would take care of him and she doesnt! So i wanted to put him on bedding so it would be easier for my step mom (he's currently on fleece) to clean and she wouldn't complain.

Do you think this would work? I'm also considering giving him to an animal rescue center since he does NOT deserve a life like this. Currently he hasnt been handled for 1-2 weeks since my dad's been gone with my Step Mom. I really do love him that's why i was thinking of giving him up since this rescue pairs guinea pigs and they make sure the owners give proper cages, food, water, and vegetables daily. They also do these checks where you have to send pictures of your pig and how they are doing so they know htey are in no harm.

Also my pig has a weird black thing on his paw and I'm terrified! Do you guys know what I can do? I dont know what to call it but it's on the little "paw pad" and it used to be pink but it turned black and it's hard, yet he still runs and plays with me and popcorns, wheeks, and purrs.. Is this natural?

Hi!

Is there not any way you can take your piggy with you inbetween staying at your mums or your dads?

Piggies can travel in a secure pet carrier with some hay and yummy treats to keep them going.

This would mean you would be the one looking after him, and would know he is being cared for properly.

With regards to the foot, its impossible to say what it is without a picture. Try soaking it with a warm, damp cloth and see if it loosens as it may just be a little poo! (dont pull at it if its stuck)

Guinea pigs are creatures that really should have a companion I definitely suggest getting pumping a sibling as guinea pigs can get lonely and depressed quickly. I also suggest using hay as bedding as it's food or your piggie and also a comfy bedding for them also. It's really easy to clean out as all you do is clear it out 1 or 2 times a week and replace it with fresh hay. Another thing I suggest doing is a daily routine as it helps you piggie think. For me I give my piggies fresh hay at night and nice veggies every morning. Now my piggies know what to expect and when to expect it.

Hope this all helps!
Xoxo

Good luck with the future!
