Hi, apologies for any mistakes spelling wise in this message, and I just need help.
Here's what happened;
http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=31162

I have Clyde here, in a box with some hay. He is alive. He has some cuts and he is rattling.

What worries me is that they are puncture wounds, the cuts/bite marks are around the ribs.

He is the only survivor and I'm so desperate for him to live. I've pout in a guinea pig toy for him to cuddle up too.

I obviously can't take him to the vets until tomorrow, that is if he is still here tomorrow. Is there anything I can do?

Just keep him warm and offer food is all I can think of. He's had such an ordeal. :(

You must be terribly upset. Have you tried calling the vet? My vet has triage nurses on overnight and times when the vet is officially closed. It might be worth trying.

I've tried 3 vets and the emergency numbers but no-one is picking up. grrrr

I'm bringing him inside tonight, I heard there might be a frost, even though he did live in the stables in a hutch covered up.

I've put some antibiotic thing spray on the cuts [it's purple in colour, used for horses].

I'll keep you posted.

Keep him warm and somewhere quiet and covered, with plenty of favourite foods. He's going to be very shaken up and needs to be kept somewhere he feels safe. Hopefully there's no internal damage and he's just a bit batterd and bruised.

There could be delayed shock. You must keep his fluid level up, best done with rehydration fluid, eg Dioralyte.

The most important thing you can do right now in regards to him possibly going into shock is making sure he gets fluids! and if the puncture wounds are not covered I would put him in a box with towels and avoid the hay. The hay particles and dust can get into the wound and irritate/infect them.

Any news? This is an awful situation, keeping fingers tightly crossed for Clyde.
