Fudge my 4 year old girly guinea pig is dragging her back legs behind her! About an hour ago my 2 daughters went to get our piggies in for the night (we have 6) and one of my daughters came running in crying saying Fudge is dragging her back legs. From what I can make out 2 of the piggies ran under the trampoline and one daughter went under and got one piggy and the other daughter the other piggy, she said Fudge was running about fine but she says she thinks as she Fudge jumped over the leg bar of the trampoline she banged herself. I checked her over and her backlegs are warm so she hasnt lost circulation, I can move her back legs so they are not broken, any ideas? help or suggestions? She has a good diet and vitamin C supplement so its not a deficiency. Thanks in advance

Thanks - she's moving around the cage and shes been to her food, she didnt make a noise when I was checking her over, I was talking to her and she responded in her usually way with little piggy squeaks. My local vet is very good with Guinea pigs I always take my piggies to him.

I will get her to the vets tomorro, shes snuggled up to her cage mate at the moment. My daughters are so upset. I will let you know how we get on thanks again

How is Fudge going? Get well soon darling and I hope those legs of yours feel back to normal soon!

Update on fudge!

I checked on Fudge last night before I went to bed and she was sat with her legs tucked under her. I checked her at 7.30 this morning and again she was just sat still I reached in to fuss her and she began to walk, although she was a little stiff and walking slowly. I telephoned the vet and he said if I was worried this eveing to take her in, but she may improve during the day. I put her in the garden in her run with her mate after the morning dew had gone as i thought the dampness might make her worse. Ive been checkig her on and off and she is walking now almost normally. I have spoken to the vet again and told him of her progress and he said he thinks she will be fine but if I am at all concerned take her in. She is at the moment enjoying the sunshine and munching on the grass! Thank you all for your good luck wishes, and for sending my little Fudge healing vibes xxxxxxx
