hello two days ago i notice my boar has rough scabby bits on his back so i shampooed him today and the hair came out in my hand with the scab on the bottom can anyone tell me what this is?
possably a fungal i would go the vets and if it is ask the vet for malaseb shampoo as ive found hibiscub which they sometimes give to harsh if the vets think its fungal x
As above, I would definitely get down to the vet as this could be serious. It might not be and I wouldn't panic but your piggy may have a fungal infection (something like ringworm for example). This is not necessarily dangerous if treated quickly and properly so the sooner you see your vet the better
It sounds like fungal to me. I used malaseb for my girls and it worked a treat. If it is fungal, all piggies who have been in contact with your boar will need to be treated.
Best to go to the vet for a proper diagnosis if you are unsure x
I was sure I already posted on this but is not here =/ Anyway, sounds like a fungal. I had to bath George three times a week with anti-fungal shampoo and put a bit of cream on twice a day. It got worse before it got better and took about five weeks to complete but it did the trick and he is good as new. I also treated him for mites just to be sure. I am no expert but hope this helps x
