Hi please could I get advice and help for my guinea pig. He is only a couple of months old I think. Since then I have had to take him to the vets 6 times as he has had infections and due to a prolapse had to have an operation. Vets treated him by giving antibiotics but have said that he has colitis - inflamed intestines and anything can trigger this.

I was told that there isn't anything that can be given apart from the antibiotics because other medication may damage his kidneys. I'm worried because each time he finishes his antibiotics he is okay a few days and then ill again. I've tried everything

Can you tell us where you are in the country?
