Ireland But I'm from Devon UK
I know most of u will, I'm just not wanting any more firework related deaths, Thru my own fault two of my bunnys died this year on halloween (when the irish have fireworks) I'm thinking bangers were chucked in my garden (as the buns always hid in the previous years and were fine)
So please learn from my mis fortune.... bring your garden piggys in and your bunkins.
Thanks guys i will shhh now :)

Oh you poor thing :'( you must feel terrible but don't blame yourself, it's the morons who had the fireworks to blame :'( I get so angry with shops for selling fireworks to the public. I really think it should only be organised displays that are allowed to buy them, there'd be less fires and less trips to Casualty too.

Clare my heart goes out to you it's really cruel knowing that fireworks can kill buns or any animal for that matter.

Thankfully my pigguns are indoors and will be forever now I think, I'm enjoying this set up we have now. House pigs means better bonding as once night time fell the pigs were alone and I didn't like it.

Good luck for tonight all, I'm sure all our pigs will be fine!

Mine have always been absolutely fine, so please everyone try not to worry *too* much :)

If you dont have indoor cages, even a cardboard box with a soft, cosy fleece inside is a brilliant idea to bring piggies inside if the fireworks are loud in your area. O0

mine are in the shed so i have just cleaned them out give them loads of fresh hay as bedding and food and put a big thick old sleeping bag over the hutches,,they can breath though,,, it is all nice and snug in there so hopefully they wont be too traumitised

i hope i havnt come over as a pain in butt, i am still grieving my bunnys who i adored, i will take ages to forgive myself for not keeping blossom in, (debbie died night before halloween, i didnt thinkthey would be a issue)
I'm sure all our piggys and bunnys will be safe. :)

Can't reiterate Clare's statement enough. I have just heard on my local radio station that some unspeakable in Kent took two bunnies out of their hutch last night, tied a firework to the neck of one and set it of >:( >:( :'( :'( :'(. Luckily the second bunny got away and was found by its owner in the garden this morning. How sick are people? It's not only the noise you have to worry about, please secure all hutches properly to keep your animals safe.

I know Sammy I couldn't believe it when I heard it on the radio earlier today. What makes people (not sure what else to call them >:() do such things, they are total sickos.

I think it goes without saying really all my life our hutch pets have been put indoors well before bonfire night. and stay there untill spring. I know some people have not got a shed or garage to put a hutch into during the winter months but bring them in for a few hours out of the loud noises or put a radio on.
In my shed the radio is on non stop all the time and I have turned it up a notch for the last few nights for the five that are in there :)

Aww I'm sorry about your buns i wish i could but theres just no room in the house for 4 piggies and 2 sets of buns :( I was really scared on my way home it wasnt even dark yet there where fireworks going off above me very loudly and i had my new piggie to who got a bit skittish in the box but is ok, i cant even bond my 4 together in the garden cos of the firworks so where stuck with the kitchen meaning we cant move ::)

Awwww sorry to hear about your bunnies :'(

I have had all mine out in the shed this year I had full intentions of bringing them in but there has been constant banging and all sorts frrm the builders ripping out 2 houses by us and doing the gardens etc so the pigs seem unfazed by all the noise. I have been down with them most nights whilst its all been happening and they are totally fine they are not bothered in the slightest but I will keep a eye on them just in case, if they are nervous they will be inside straight away :)

i thought id put this petition on here as i also do flyball with my dogs and this was put on the british flyball association. My dogs are kenneled out side but my two guinea pigs live in the house

Whether this petition will do any good, I don't know, but at least it will show how strongly people feel.

I hate fireworks grr :tickedoff:

Thankfully the piggies are inside now, wouldn't want them out in this even though they don't seem to bother them. Patch is inside too so all is okay..I hope :)

I have had to leave my buns out, they are fine with the fireworks, they always look at m funny when I go out and start fussing. they are well covered up. I'm really sorry you lost two buns, how awful.

bunky free bunnies :'(

Ive had to go give more ahy for them to hide in and work in the dark as the bangs are to loud with the shed dooropen, jesies hiding in the house, petal under the log bridge with her head in the ahy and hermione i snuggled up taking care of baby pumpki. Went to checkk on them at 7.30 and they were asleep!
