My latest and currently youngest arrival at the Tribe has to say goodbye to his now fully descended "dangleberries" today! With 20 sows in the same room, the risk of accidental encounters is just too high with a full boar. It also gives him the full range of options if that is needed at some point in the future.

Nye has bonded really well with Nosgan (who is already neutered). Because he is living with another boar, there is no need to separate or for a post-op safety wait. In fact, Nosgan is with him at the vets. In the experienced hands of "Uncle Simon" Maddock, who has neutered all guinea pigs coming through the now sadly closed RNGP Welfare rescue in Rugby and whose success rate in that respect is about as close to 100% as you can reasonable get, he should hopefully pick up as if nothing untowards has happened. Nevertheless, it is always an anxious wait...

Hope all goes well today for little Nye x x

Paws crossed for you little Nye :luv: x
The plum fairy awaits another trophy :)
You're in the most capable hands in the country xx

Paws crossed for Nye! I hope everything goes beyond great! I also wish him a speedy recovery! x

Paws and fingers all crossed here! 20 Sows! OMG Can you imagine the carnage if he got in accidentally...it does not bear thinking about although I am sure he'd be delighted (and exhausted). Good Luck little Nye xx

I have my fingers crossed and so does my guinea pigs
But Nellie my guinea doesn't because as typing this she is attacking my iPad which I am'trying to type with:lol!:
:)

I hope by now he might be safely back home where he belongs, albeit a little lighter in weight :)

I'm sure he will be fine - two of my sows were spayed by "uncle simon " also, as they came from Rugby rabbit and guinea pig rescue who automatically spayed all their sows (again now closed down and only run as a private boarding service ).

I hope it went smoothly for little Nye.
And am I the only one snorting in a ridiculously childish manner about 'dangleberries'? :))

Good job @Wiebke - looks like you have certainly picked up the local dialect from your current home country :tu:

Blame @sport_billy for the 'dangleberries'! He is such a bad influence... :lol!:

Thanks, everything has gone well!

Four of mine were/are adoptees from RNGP Welfare. I still have got spayed Hafren and Nesta, who are going strongly for their age.

Yes its worth getting him neutered. One of my friends had an accidental litter one of her sows climbed out of the C&C and in with 2 unneutered boars! Little madam. I hope he recovers well
