Unfortunately I just had to put my piggie, Popcorn, to sleep today. She had a cage mate, Frost, who so far is doing fine. A also have another pig, Smore, who is in her own separate cage because she wouldn't bond with the other 2 (i know trios are hard to form). Do you think it'd be possible to bond Smore and Frost even though they didn't get along before when Popcorn was here? Frost is 3 and Smore is 4.

It's worth a try, as having a cagemate is always best for a piggy.

The dynamics of a group really change when more are added or taken away. I had a trio that worked well once, but when one passed away the remaining two started to fight.

I agree with @Jaycey.
I would try to bond your remaining two piggies, so they can both have a companion.
Just be careful to set everything up properly (large neutral area, no hideys, etc) on a day when you have lots of time to be close by and monitor the situation.
Hopefully it will go well.

Hi and welcome

I am very sorry for your loss! You are welcome to post a tribute to Popcorn in our Rainbow Bridge section if or whenever you wish to.

You can certainly give it a try and see whether Frost and Smore will go together or not, especially if Frost is the submissive one of the bond. If it doesn't work out, please keep your two girls in adjoining cages, so they can itneract through the bars for mutual stimulation and company.

So sorry for your loss. And yes, I would also agree that it is worth setting up a neutral space and trying them together. As they are both on their own they may enjoy each other's company, but if they don't get on at least you'll have tried.

Thank you every one for your responses and thoughts. I will surely give the bonding a try. Should I wait to try it, or can I bond them as soon as possible? Would it make any difference?
