Thanks madguineapiglady.Ive said I would take loads of piccies and they could visit if theyd like to.She knows how important guinea pig company is and says shes frustrated that her children are unsure but as hes their piggy the choice is theirs *sigh*
Ive shown her pictures of the girls and she likes the sound of his potential abode.Hopefully she will be able to persuade them.

What about saying that if the kids aren't sure maybe you could take him in 'temporarily' to see how it goes.
It is a bit of a risk, but if you think they will forget about him once he is out of the door it could pay off.
Plus once he is settled in his new home, if they do want him back you could ask them to come over and see how he lives now, and then ask if they really think he will be better off back with them (not in such a harsh way obviously).
Or do something cute like have him send them postcards from his new home, telling them how much fun he is having.
Over time just slowly decrease the frequency and hopefully they won't give it a second thought, and you will have saved a gorgeous little piggie.

Good luck, the children haven't got a clue how the piggy should be cared for poor little thing. Maybe you should write a chart about all the things a piggy MUST have done for him, make sure it's a long list, & give them plenty of mucky intimate jobs & how unhappy he is living there. He desperately needs company & he would be happier if he had some. Swissgreys is brilliant with the postcards etc, great idea. The mum must realise that the piggy may be there's but as they are neglecting it, she must step in.
Got everything crossed for you piggles. Ring her at work tell he's really poorly & you must rush him to the vet & he has to have a week or so at the vet, & it's gonna costs lots of money, but of course you don't mind paying the bill if he's coming to you. When he's at the vet he's really with you. What age range are the children?

:agr: My children love our guineas but really don't understand what's best for them. Guinea welfare over kids wants (in regard to guinea care) any day.

I'm delighted to say I'm bringing him home with me tomorrow:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
I'm so happy!
Shes told the children hes coming to me for a little holiday. In no time he will be forgotten I'm sure and we wont need to elaborate on the "holiday"story.:)
I cant wait to spoil him and introduce him to his new wives when the time is right after his neutering.:tu:
Thanks again everyone for the support.:luv:

He will have the very best care AND a very good specialist vet who looks after all my rabbits and piggies.Roll on tomorrow!

Just a little update on little Tom.Hes settled in beautifully and has a piggie friend Parsley-another boar of mine who recently fell out with his friend.Parsley is a gentle sweet mature boar like Tom so I thought they would get on.Also it means not needing to neuter Tom-being an older boy that's a relief.Parsleys former friend will be bonded with a bonded pair of girlies I have once hes neutered.
Toms character is really coming out and he is enjoying gp company and good grub as well as a bigger cage.He popcorns quite a lot.:luv:Big difference to the little chap I used to know who just sat and stared into space much of the time and looked sad and stressed.
Hes lovely and I'm so lucky to have him:)
