Hes off to the vets in the morning. I noticed his right paw is really swollen. Have been advised to try a cold compress on his foot if he lets me,which he will hes so sweet. And I shall keep you updated.

Hubby has siad to go back to the shop we got him for as they are liable. I dont think it works like with independant pet shops.

Actually hubby's right. If poor old Plops had this problem when you got him then the shop is liable for the vet fees - it is illegal to sell sick/ill animals

On a more positive note, healing vibes and everything crossed that it's nothing serious for Plops.

When I bought him in to put his foot on a cold compress. I gave him some carrot and he ate that quite happily, and kept his foot on the compress. I noticed a cut on his eyeso bathed that with some warm water and a cotton bud. Ive just checked on him and his eye looks good.
Will keep you all postedxoxo

Bless him. Not long to go now. I was up and checking on him at 6.30 this morning. Hes hobbling around the hutch exploring and eating. Fingers crossed it isnt too serious. His eye looks good. But I am going to mention it to the vet.

good luck at the vet plop.

hope its not too expensive for you either.

Not long returned from the vets. Plop has cut his foot. Hes had some painkillers and his first shot of antibiotics. And is on a really small dose of baytril, which is to be watered down before i give it to him. Twice a day. He was very brave, and layed back in my arms and put his head up to look at me. While she was examining his foot and cleaning it up I was shooshing in his ear to calm him down. Bless his little heart, brave little man.

Ive just checked him again. His foot is still red, but his pad looks slightly better. Hes soooo sweet. I pick him up and he lays back in my hand. So I was rubbing his belly and his head went right back like he was relaxing. lol hes a little love-cxoxo

Plops doing well. His foot is still pretty swollen. He is taking his antibiotics really well. Hes been in the run today, chuntering away to himself and wundering around on three legs. Hes gone to beddybyes now

Iven given Plop his meds today. His foot is still swollen but he has been trying to put it down to walk today. I'm hoping this is going in the right direction, as I have rung the vets to get a price on the op she said he might need, cos it might need draining. Over £50 peeps. I am going to have to start putting pennies away. He has only been on the antibiotics since sat morning, so I am hoping they work. Hes darting off pretty quick though, lol love him.
I'm wundering is he so laid back because hes on these meds. I hope not hes gawjus and so easy to handle.

Wel Ive just got Plp out for his routine cuddle(just has to be done) his foot has a nice puss bubble forming, and it slightly popped when i looked at it. Hopefully thats going to releive the pressure and swelling he has there. He still has 4 days worth of antibiotics to take. So fingers crossed it will clear up pretty soon.:a19:

Am I right in thinking that once the infection has burst(puss)that its healing.Hes still got 4 and half days left of antibiotics.

The first lot of infection cleared over night. Plop was licking it this morning, first time ive seen him attempt that. Its filling up again. Thankgoodness these antibiotics are working. Hes getting about on it alot easier, in fact so much so hes darting here there and everywhere. He's eating more, and even calling for me when I go out for a smoke. -c
